OISE Sydney will give each candidate an entry test and recommend which Cambridge exam is most appropriate for you, FCE, CAE or BEC. Our aim is to help you achieve your best exam result. Our programmes include an in-depth analysis of all exam papers: Reading, Writing, Use of English, Listening and Speaking.
A typical week includes:Reading: Analysis of 4 sections of reading paper; introduction to reading skills: skimming, scanning. Text organisation:paragraph and sentence construction; topic sentences. Timed practice.
Writing: Analysis of part 1 and 2 tasks; 3 practice writing tasks (letter, report and article); feedback and analysis of errors. Learner training: how to edit your work.
Use of English: Analysis of 5 sections of paper; identify key grammatical structures; overview of tense system - present and past forms. Lexical development - phrasal verbs, collocations, lexical set: travel and tourism, the environment. Learner training: recording vocabulary.
Listening: Analysis of 4 sections; development of listening skills including note-taking, summarising; use of synonyms. Exam practice.
Speaking: Analysis of 4 sections: focus on skills - comparing, contrasting, giving opinions, agreeing and disagreeing. Two practice exams with detailed feedback and recommendations.
